My Story
My name is Amy and I am a Certified Play Therapist, qualifying in April 2026, which led me to establish Little Buds Creative Therapies.
My passion for play therapy developed through my work in the social care sector, supporting children with Autism and complex communication needs. In this role, I was introduced to a range of therapeutic approaches to help children express themselves and be understood. Seeing the power of non-verbal communication and creative expression in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing is what led me to pursue play therapy as a specialist area.
My approach is based on a holistic, integrative model of play therapy, meaning I draw on a range of tools and therapeutic approaches to meet each child’s individual needs. I believe every child is unique and therapy should reflect this by offering a flexible, responsive and child centred way of working.
Play therapy is at the heart of what I do. I am passionate about creating a warm, accepting and safe space where children can express themselves freely through play. I believe that play is a child’s natural language, and through it, children can communicate feelings and experiences that may feel too big or too complex for words.
My approach is gentle, child centred, and grounded in the belief that every child deserves to feel heard, understood and emotionally supported at their own pace. I feel privileged to walk alongside children as they explore their inner world, build emotional resilience and begin to make sense of their experiences in a way that feels safe and meaningful to them. Above all, I am passionate about supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and helping them feel seen, valued and accepted just as they are.
I am registered with PTUK (Play Therapy UK) and the Professional Standards Authority. The Professional Standards Authority is an independent organisation that oversees accredited registers to ensure practitioners meet high standards of training, safety and ethical practice.
